The Bohr shift on the oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curve is produced by changes in. A. The partial pressure of oxygen. B. The partial pressure of carbon monoxide. C. Hemoglobin concentration. D. Temperature. E. pH.

Explanation / Answer

25. The right answer is option D.

Transpiration is defined as the evaporation or loss of water from the surface of leaves in plants. Transpiration involves the adhesion of water molecules to cellulose( which is an integral component of the plant cell wall).

The movement of water from the roots into the xylem is carried out without the use of energy in the form of ATP. Adhesion and cohesion forces facilitates the movement of water molecules from xylem to mesophyll cells eventually out of the plants through stomata opening. Hence transpiration is a passive transport unlike active transport which requires energy.

So option D is the right answer as active transport is not involved in transpiration.
