above is a where to find the article

having trouble with answering journal articles I think I may have the answer to these but I've had trouble fully understanding

1.Examine Fig. 2 for the following questions.

a) Look closely at part A. During what time period do the major divergences within placental mammals (Placentalia) occur?

for this one I thought 80 mya -70 mya but not sure if I reading it correctly

b) Looking at parts B-D, during what time period is there a major increase in mammalian diversification rate? (I'm not sure / not seeing this when reading it )

2.) What do the authors conclude regarding the influence of the KTR and KPg on mammalian diversification?

this I'm not sure I'm fully interpreting it correctly

Explanation / Answer

1.a.85- to 90-million-year-old

b.Over the following 70 to 80 million years, the rate of diversification accelerated by many orders of magnitude.

2.Both the KTR and the KPg mass extinction played important roles in the early diversification and adaptive radiation of mammals. The KTR increased ecospace diversity, possibly precipitating interordinal diversification, whereas the KPg mass extinction made more of this ecospace available for mammals, promoting the emergence of crown-group orders with their distinctive morphological adaptations.
