Miami which has the largest amount of exposed physical assets, such as buildings, transport infrastructure, utility infrastructure and other permanent structures (OECD,2007), as well as the fourth-largest population vulnerable to sea level rise in the world (Tompkins & DeConcini, 2014). With the vulnerability of the city in mind, it is thus interesting to step away from the discussion what causes the sea levels to rise but instead analyze the ramifications of sea level rise for the urban area of Miami. In recent research project, conducted in December 2015 and January 2016, the aim was to comprehensively understand the ramifications of sea level rise.
