2.2.   Suppose you hire five workers. The wage cost for the last worker is $85. Would you make more profit paying the others the same wage or offering them higher wages because they are worth more to you? A.  The same wage B.  Higher wages

Explanation / Answer

2.1)

From marginal wage of labor, output can be calculated as adding additional wage caused by adding one more extra labor.

For hiring utmost 5 workers. If the going wage will be equal to the profit earned by hiring 5 workers.

(0 + 55 + 107 + 149 +189 ) /5 = 500/5 = $100 per worker

2.2) If five workers are hired. Total cost = $500

If the cost for the last worker = 85 then paying same amount the tototal cost will be eqaul to

85* 5 = $425

So paying others the same wage will yield more profit.
