Question
A prediction (based on a reference from 2006) that projects a $20 billion word market for nano food. I wonder. This may in part depend on a liberal definition of nanotechnology (relabeling old technologies as ‘nano’). See if you can find a confirmation or recent estimate of this. Also, what are the total amounts the world and US spend on food, and as a percentage of GNP and/or personal income. I am speculating that even if only 5 or 10% of food becomes nanotechnology, this may well dwarf all other nano markets, at least in the short term (next ten or twenty years).
