Respond to the following discussionnn post:Money does make the world go around, before there was money it was simply trading goods. However, the growing need of money within our fast growing society has often caused rifts due to greed and wanting power. When receiving benefits from the government I’m kind of stuck in the middle. I am almost a cross between both liberal and conservative’s views. I am all for helping those in need and do not mind the funding being pulled from my taxes. The problem I have with funding those in need is when those who are solely depending on the government and not actually trying to help themselves. When I say helping themselves, I feel as though they should be employed as well or in school, if capable, and free of illegal drug use, in other words they have to be responsible. Now the issues I have with conservatives they make it nearly impossible for some individuals or families to receive benefits from the government.

Explanation / Answer

It is the responsibility of the government to help those in need as a part of the social welfare and transfer payment plans. It is also true that most of the financing for these plans takes place from the taxes collected from taxpayer people. I am also a tax payer and I also want to help needy people. But, there should be a plan, assessment criteria for need based support requirement as well as periodical phase out of support given to existing set of people, so that new set of people who are in need can be offered the support. For this purpose, Government should offer vocational/ employability skill training program, provide employment opportunities and motivate people to take up jobs so that they could join the main stream of economy. Government should also stop helping those who are reluctant in doing jobs and are solely dependent on financial support. Here, Government can fix the tenure of support so that after a particular period of time, financial support to these people will automatically be stopped. It will help in realizing the true purpose of utilizing tax payer’s funds.
