Concepts ii and iii ??? How I, the avera e power pasing through the dralar aperture of the antenna related to the average intersty e,e TV s gar? M) what i the average energy density, or average energy per unit volume, of the electromagnetik wave? (Use the follewing as necemary: c. r, t, and S to represent S. De not Calculations ) Determine the electromagnetic anergy delvered to the 6ish during a theo-hour pregram. DELL

Explanation / Answer

(ii)

The average power is the energy per unit time.

So , energy received by the antenna in time t , can be given as product of average power and time t.

Energy = P.t

(iii)

The energy delivered to the dish is carried by the electromagnetic wave. The wave passes perpendicularly through an imaginary surface that an area A that matches the circular area of circular dish's aperture.

Since the energy is being carried by an electromagnetic wave , it travels at the speed of light c. Thus the length of cylinder is x = ct.

Density (u)= Energy/volume

= S(r2)t/ (r2)(ct)
