Question

An electric ceiling fan is rotating about a fixed axis with an initial angular velocity of 0.260 rev/s. The angular acceleration is 0.913 rev/s^2 . Its blades form a circle of diameter 0.760 m.

A) Compute the angular velocity of the fan after time 0.202 s. has passed. Express your answer numerically in revolutions per second. Got angular v= 0.444 rev/s and is correct.

B) Through how many revolutions has the blade turned in the time interval 0.202 s from Part A? Express the number of revolutions numerically. got 7.11 * 10^-2 rev and is correct.

C) What is the tangential speed vtan(t) of a point on the tip of the blade at time t= 0.202 s.? Express your answer numerically in meters per second.
I got 1.06 m/s and is correct

Just need help on this
D)What is the magnitude a of the resultant acceleration of a point on the tip of the blade at time t= 0.202 s.? Express the acceleration numerically in meters per second squared.
Got answer= 2.96 m/s^2 here but was marked wrong. Comment was- I have neglected tangential acceleration of the fan blade. Pls. help

Explanation / Answer

d ) radial acceleration a_c = v^2 / r

          tangential acceleration a_t   = r

magnitude of the acceleration a = ( a_c)^2 + ( a_t )^2

                                                  = ..........m/s^2

substitue the values to get solution
