Question
Hello, I have a lab tomorrow, and I am very bad at physics. I want to prepare myself for the lab since it's hard. Picture 1 is explanation of the lab, page 2 & 3 are the lab that we're assigned to do.
Answer questions 1 - 4 correctly. ( in the last picture ) <=== THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!! (Please answer them correctly) The instructor always mark me off for those questions since he says it's incorrect or not completely correct.
you might need to open the pictures in a new tab. so you can view it clearly
All I want is answering those 4 questions.
Thanks

Explanation / Answer
1) The energy should be conserved since the ground is frictionless if it is not then there is some friction present ( air friction and bottom friction )
2) Yes, it is possible
Kinetic energy will be = v^2/2
and potential energy = g*h
total energy = v^2/2 + g*h
we can check if this term is conserved or not.
3)
If there were friction present, there would be heat loss because of friction hence the energy will not be conserved. THe final total energy at 2 will be less than that at 1.
4)
a)That the sliding plane is frictionless
b) there is no air friction present.
