Not all events will be placed. First event Last event Secondary oocytes are released into the fallopian tube at ovulation and arrest at metaphase II. If fertilized by a sperm cell, the secondary oocyte will complete meiosis II, generating a fertilized diploid egg and an additional haploid polar body. If fertilization does not occur after ovulation, human females generate more oocytes from germ cells in the ovaries During fetal development, primordial germ cells in the ovaries undergo mitosis to generate diploid oogonia Primary oocytes are arrested at prophase 1 until herv Previous CheckAExplanation / Answer
Steps are in the order as follows:-
-During fetal development, primordial germ cells in the ovaries undergo mitosis to generate diploid oogonia.
-Diploid oogonia continue mitosis and produce primary oocytes before birth.
-Primary oocytes arrested at prophase 1 untill puberty.
-The comletion of meiosis results in one haploid secondary oocyte and one haploid polar body.
Secondary oocytes released in fallopian tube during ovulation and arrested at metaphase 2.
-if fertilized by a sperm cell hte secondary oocyte completes meiosis 2 and results in one haploid ovum and an additional haploid polar body.
The ovum fertization with sperm forms diploid zygote.
NOTE-if not fertilized after ovulation, human females generate more haploid secondary oocyte.
THE SECONDARY OOCYTE IS HAPLOID AND not DIPLOID.
