Question
An object attached to a spring exhibits simple harmonic motion with amplitude 10cm. how far from the equilibrium will the object be when the system's Potential energy is equal to it's kinetic energy An object attached to a spring exhibits simple harmonic motion with amplitude 10cm. how far from the equilibrium will the object be when the system's Potential energy is equal to it's kinetic energy An object attached to a spring exhibits simple harmonic motion with amplitude 10cm. how far from the equilibrium will the object be when the system's Potential energy is equal to it's kinetic energy The flux through a 60 cm long solenoid with 5000 turns on it and wound on an iron rod of adius 0.75 cm is 1.7 mWb. The relative permeability of the iron is 300. Calculate the current passing ugh the solenoid.Explanation / Answer
Spring problem
Using conservation of energy
0.5kA^2= 0.5mv^2+ 0.5*k*x^2
As kinetic energy is equal to spring potential energy
0.5kA^2=2(0.5kx^2)
A/sqrt(2)= x
x= 10/sqrt(2)
x= 7.07 cm
