1)energy dissipated will be:

E = q V

E = 40 x 50 x 10^6 = 2 x 10^9 J

Hence, E = 2 x 10^9 J = 2 Giga Joule

2)Q = m c T + m H

2 x 10^9 = m (4186 x 100 + 2260)

m = 2 x 10^9/(420860) = 4752 kg
