<p>An international jewel thief has just completed a major heist to steal the crown jewels in england. the police are hot on his trail, but they have no idea what is in store for them. the thief has set up a zipline at the top of a cliff over looking the ocean.<br /><br />The zipline is at a 15 degree angle above the ocean. At the bottom, it is securely tied to a buoy 200m away from the cliff. He purchased his pulley based harness and zipline cord in a combo-pack that gave him enough information to figure out the coefficient of friction between the harness and cord will be 0.13 on the nose. Having paid attention in physics class, he and his assistant know that only forces acting on Pierre as he slides will be his weight and the friction between harness and the zipline cord.<br /><br />His assistant has done a great amount of physics homework and positioned the get-away boat such that if Pierre detaches himself from the zipline exactly 15 seconds after he starts sliding down, he will land in the water directly next to his boat. From there he can climb in, remotely disengaged holding the zipline together and make a clean escape.<br /><br />Now answer these questions to determine how far away the thiefs boat needed to be placed to make this work:<br /><br />1. with what acceleration does the thief slide?<br />2.
