Question
Circuit operation As mentioned earlier the main purpose of this circuit is to increase the frequency. The circuit is connected to the main supply source. Then, by step down transformer, which we use it to step the 220 V RMS to 12 V RMS. After that, we convert the voltage from AC to DC by entering the voltage to a rectifier. Then, a capacitor is connected in parallel to smoothen the peak ripples to ensure constant DC voltage passes through. After that, we used the 555 timer IC with the specific value of resistors and capacitor in order to get our desired frequency. The output of the 555 timer is connected to a MOSFET transistor which protects the 555 timer from the high oscillating current and limits it. Finally, we use the step-up transformer which will step the voltage up to 220 V with the desired frequency. (Measurements shown in figure 4)Explanation / Answer
purpose of C3:-
capacitor C1 is connected across the primary of a second transformer.
Here 555 timer converts DC to AC, this AC is given to capacitor in parallel with primary of step up transformer.
In order to give fundamental harmonic AC and block higher order harmonic AC to transformer a C1 is connected across primary of transformer.
purpose of C4;-
Here capacitor is connected in series with load. because to produce the phase shift between input low frequency AC and output high frequency AC. capacitor C4 purpose is to produce phase difference.
