Voltage follower is an amplifier with unity gain. It has very high input resistance and very low output resistance. Output voltage is in phase with the input voltage or in other words output voltage follows input voltage. It has lots of practical use for eg. suppose a micro-controller can supply 1mA of current at its output pins but you need 10mA of current to drive a device,in such case you may use voltage buffer. Voltage follower has a lots of practical use therefore option "a" is incorrect and all other options are correct.
