Explanation / Answer
1.) What are 3 brands of the same product (e.g., breakfast cereal) that are positioned differently? How are they differentiated?
Bentley - Super Luxury Automobile
Toyota Prius - Economical General Market Auto
Tesla Coupe - Electric Car
2.) How do the pricing strategies for corporations differ from nonprofit organizations (NPOs)? Provide examples.
A Corporation must make a profit and create a return for the investor an NPO only needs to create enough revenue to break even. The pricing for a corporation would be to do a break even analysis and consider profit goals in that analysis. An NPO only needs to identify the break even without consideration of profit.
3.) What product or service have you recently encountered that would be particularly suited for multi-channel or interactive marketing? Why? What are the benefits of multiple marketing channels? Are there any disadvantages? Explain.
Political campaigns are well suited to multi-channel and interactive markets because multichannel marketing involves developing a wide range of ways to identify target audiences. The advantages of doing so include reaching many different desired demographics based on what channel is used to reach them.
The disadvantage is that channeled marketing is rarely homogenous and it requires that the marketing message be changed based on demographic, income level and the channel used to deliver the message.
