Colarado plateau is expanded in the four corners region of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. The rocks of this area are formed 2.7 billion year ago. Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rocks are existed here. And this area is dominated by red color because here the outcrops of the Aztec Sandstone with the presence of iron oxide or hematite. Here the Colorado Rockies now stand was formed 100 million years ago by a shallow sea that stretched from the Arctic to the Gulf of Mexico. Here the Colorado River carved downward through the rising earth. Several geomorphological features in the area are generated by colorado river. Meanders, flood basins, braised river, deep gorges, alluvium etc are observed there.
