calculate each problem

volue: 10.00 points A sample space S yields five equally likely events, A, B, C, D, and E. a. Find P(D). (Round your answer to 2 decimal places.) P(D) b. Find P(B9). (Round your answer to 2 decimal places.) P(B) c. Find P(A UCUE). (Do not round intermediate calculations. Round your answer to 2 decimal places.) P(AUCUE) References eBook & Resources Worksheet Difficulty: 1 Easy Learning Objective: 04-02 Formulate and explain subjective, empirical, and classical probabilities.

Explanation / Answer

the sample space S yields 5 equally likely events A,B,C,D and E.

since there are total events=5 and all are equally likely hence we have

P[A]=P[B]=P[C]=P[D]=P[E]=1/5

a) so P[D]=1/5=0.20   [answer]

b) P[Bc]=1-P[B]=1-1/5=4/5=0.80 [answer]

c)   [there is not mentioned anything whether the events are independent or mutually disjoint or not]

so without loss of generelity we assume that the events are mutually disjoint then

P[AUCUE]=P[A]+P[C]+P[E]=1/5+1/5+1/5=3/5=0.60 [answer]
