Explanation / Answer

We can interpret Exp(B) in terms of the change in odds. If the value exceeds 1 then the odds of an outcome occurring increase; if the figure is less than 1, any increase in the predictor leads to a drop in the odds of the outcome occurring. For example, the Exp(B) value associated with Drug Use is 1.421. Hence when Drug Use is raised by one unit, the odds ratio is 1.421 times as large and increases the odds of dependent variable about 1.421 times.

EXP(B) of Drug Use, Age and Father Negligence is greater than 1. Therefore, if the value of predictor variable exceeds 1 then the odds of an outcome occurring increase.

EXP(B) of only Self-Estrangement/Powerlessness is greater than 1. EXP(B) of Social isolation and Mother Negligence is less than 1. Therefore, if the value of predictor variables (Social isolation and Mother Negligence) exceeds 1 then the odds of an outcome occurring decrease.

Therefore, the second set of predictor variables (Isolation, Self-Estrangement, and Mother’s Negligence) is not effective set than the first set of predictor variables (Drug Use, Age and Father Negligence).
