1)P(A & B) = P(A).P(B)

2)P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A & B)

3)P(neither) = 1 - P(A or B)

1) P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A & B)
     = 0.3 + 0.4 - 0.3*0.4 = 0.58 ans

2) P(neither) = 1 - P(A or B)
   = 1 - 0.58 = 0.42 ans
note: be careful. independent does not mean disjoint !
