The Cherokee perspective regarding their relocation was completely against the initiative taken by the government. The cherokee people thought of the nation as their native land and did not want to move from that place. They thought that their occupation and livelihood were all tiedup to the place they lived. Moreover, they also thought of all the treaties and laws that has been enacted between them and the government would protect their rights against the relocation process. This was the thought process of the cherokee people regarding their eviction.

Andrew Jackson considered the cherokee people savagaes and explained the advanatges of their relocation to the Congress. He was of the opinion that if the cherokee people can be evacuated and made to stay with other Indian people then it would lead to lesser conflict among the federal and state governments. Moreover, there were pecuniary benefits involved with the cherokee evaluation since gold rush in Georgia had already begun. Lastly, he also argued that if the control of the southern states was given to the government then U.S would be better protected against any future attack from external forces.
