I think it’s partially true because the data is collected and finally collated by the researcher but if we look at the three most common qualitative research methods such as participant observation, in-depth interviews and focus groups all three could be recorded. So, the proof for the data can be maintained, when questioned about the authenticity of the research besides, most of the researchers want to prove something from their hypothesis that would benefit the entire society. So, one or two instances out of thousand may not hold much water. It’s also true that at times, they force the participant to provide the expected answers by framing the questions in such a way. Despite all these, qualitative research methodologies are still considered as best because the subjects of the research can explain whatever is in their mind openly or exhibit a behavior naturally.
