Experimental group: 4. Control group B. A social psychologist thinks that people are more likely to conform to a large crowd than to a single person. To test this hypothesis, the social psychologist had either one person or five persons stand on a busy walking path on campus and look up. The psychologist stood nearby and counted the number of people passing by who also looked up 5. Independent variable: Group size (group of 5; 1 person) (I gave you this ane) 7. Experimental group 8. Control group C. To test a new voice feature in a cockpit design a flight simulator was used. The simulator was programmed to give visual readings of flight information, or to give visual and auditory (voice) readings of fight information. All test pilots were put through a simulated emergency landing procedure, but were randomly assigned to the visual, or visual and auditory conditions. Flight experts rated each pilot's performance in the simulator on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 10 (excellent). 9. Independent variable: 10. Dependent variableExplanation / Answer
A)College students given speed reading test
Independent variable - It is a variable which is unaffected by the variations on the other variable. In this money is the independent variable.
Dependant variable- Variable which varies as per the other variable. In this performance of the students is the dependant variable.
Experimental group - A group which receives the variable being tested. In this, the group which receives money is the experimental group, as it is being experimented whether money influences performance or not.
Control group- Group which is free of the variable being tested is the control group. The group of college students which does not receive any money for the reading is the control group here.
