Part of the prison experience could be either working at a job while doing time or learning a skill or trade. All of this is part of the prison subculture.

Explanation / Answer

Correctional programs are very essential in prison reforms. Many prisons have industris and other programs where inmates of prison are taught   such programs.The main idea would be to teach them something and also value team based interventions.They feel they are doing something worthwhile and to keep their mind occupied. Correctional reforms have many skill based programs. By involving themselves they learn a new skill and are confident of having means of survival on reform. The prisons do not consider this as a business but soley for the benefit of prisoner.The income is taxfree.Prison mates await to work in this program and are paid a stipend.Entry level requires a high school diploma.Inmates contribute part of their earnings to court orders fines and victim resolution.some of the skills taught are accountancy, forklift operations,carpentary and equipment maintenance. On this training many offenders have expressed gratitude that their life has changed and they are able to contribute to the society.
