Organizational Communication
Organizational communication simply refers to the communication that takes place in business environment. It may be defined as the process of sending and receiving messages among Interrelated individuals within a particular environment or setting go achieve individual and Common goals .Organizational communication is highly contextual and culture dependent. Individuals in organization transmit messages through face to face, written and mediated channels.
Organizational communication helps us in
1) Accomplishment of tasks relating to specific roles and responsibilities of each and every department of the organization
2)Acclimeting changes within organization through individual and organizational adaptability and creativity
3)Complete tasks through maintanence of policy, procedure, and regulation that support day to day operation
4)Develop relationships where human messages are directed at people within the Organization
5)Coordinate,plan and control the Operations of the organization.
Organizational communication largely focuses on building relationships and interacting with internal organizational members and interested external public.In words of Mark Koschmann, the concept of organizational communication can be understood from two different perspectives. Tradional or conventional approach focuses communication within organization.
The second approach is communication as organization-meaning the organization are the results of communication of those within them. Communication is not just about transmitting messages between sender and receiver, rather communication literally constitutes or makes up our social world.
