Question
What's the difference between a doral root and a dorsal root ganglia?
In diagrams, I see that the dorsal root ganglia is bulging/thicker than the dorsal root.
How does the dorsal root ganglion buldge out and where does the rest of the dorsal root go where it's thinner?

A dorsal root ganglion or spinal ganglion or posterior root ganglion is a cluster of nerve cell bodies in a dorsal root of a spinal nerve. The dorsal root of spinal nerve is one of two roots which emerge from the spinal cord. It emerges directly from the spinal cord and travels to the dorsal root ganglion(DRG). Dorsal root transmits sensory information.
DRG is nodule like structure due to cluster of spinal nerve cells which gives it this look. Each dorsal root fiber is the central process of a dorsal root ganglion cell. They contains sensory afferent fibers from skin, subcutaneous, deep tissues and viscera. The thinner portion shows dorsal roots which is carrying neural signal from central nervous system to peripheral nervous system.
