Question
A person in his or her 90's can increase muscle strength by two or three times with 40 minutes of isometric exercise per week Select one: True False A 56.210 lb, 64-year-old male business executive had a physical exam prior to his retirement from corporate work. His blood pressure was >180/115 on three separate days. Further examination showed normal to low plasma renin activity. elevated total peripheral resistance (TPR), cardiac output (CO) of 7.2 L/min, x-ray evidence of left ventricular hypertrophy. retinal hemorrhages, and mild polyuria. Recommended therapy was weight reduction to his ideal level, a low-salt diet (Explanation / Answer
Studies have shown that even in 90s muscle power can be increased by isometric exercise. Study Link is here: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs11357-013-9586-z
So the first answer is true.

Second question:
In renal hypertension and renal disease, hypoxia there is increased renin.
Pulmonary Hypertension causes right ventricular hypertrophy. In pulmonary hypertension right ventricle need to be working more in order to send blood via pulmonary artery ( whic goes from right ventricle to lungs) against higher pulmonary arterial pressure--> so In pulmonary hypertesnion there will be right ventricular hypertension.
Also finding shows that systolic as well as diastolic BP increased. Cardiac ouput is increased ( normal is 3-5 litre/min). Also salt restriction did not improved the condition.
So the diagnosis is d). Secondary hypertension [ it means that there is a underlying disease which is causing the hypertesion. Here it may be due to primary hyperaldosteronism, because there is hypertension, low renin and increased cardiac output. In primary hyperaldosteronism, there is increased aldosterone--> so decreased renin, sodium and water retention-->ncreased bllod volume---> increased cardiac output. or it may be due to diabettes mellitus]
