The cost of managing expatriates is tough even for an MNC like the Robert Bosch ias it is cited as a highly expensive affair. One of the prime reasons is that expatriates bring in a lot of high expenses and the company will have to mange them and their families when they move to tthe countries they are hired for.

Lets see what cost reduction measures could have been adopted in such a case:

1. Hiring common workforce than going for outsourcing resources from countries with cheap labour.

2. Evaluate common work force Viz a viz resources for cheap labour.

3. Hire them as contracts instead to understand who would be of benefit in the long run, then only progress with permanent.

4. Analyse there performance over a period of time before renewing their contract.

5. See if the expatriates already have a ready Visa to work in the country rather than sponsoring the visa at company's cost.
