Shawn vergo contacted initially to sara simon and asked to pay$100 through a third party person Mark Lawrence
And amount transfer discussions done between sara simon and mark lawrence, finally the amount was transferred successfully but sara simon did not get her phone back.
The action to be follow is
Step 1
Recovery of stolen phone was littlebit difficult ,here sara simon can inform to the police that she has evidence of phone calls. There is a chance that lawrence can escape by telling simply do not know about the phone.
If sara speaks to shawn vargo who is putting contract to handover the phone may he helps to find out the phone or else atleast sara can show the police him as witness of mediating to lawrence.
Step 2
Lawrence cannot be more stronger to arue with sara because sara clearly said that the phone is hers and asked to send her phone
Sara can put a case followed by attorney to get her phone back and to punish the thefts as well because the lawrence was intensionally sold the phone to buyers store
Step3
Even though sara cannot get her phone there is a benefit of reporting to the police that basing on the phone insurance sara can get some amount behalf of phone.to have the insurance police report is must needed.
Step4
Or sara can go through antoher approach as finding the phone through blacklist, it is simple that identifier which is unique take its place into a systems of mobile providers and connecting the devive to carrier network then the network recognizes and stops from working.
So by identifying demographic area .phone can found easily also the members included in stoling the phone.
Step5

Explanation / Answer
23–8. Lost Property. Sara Simon misplaced her Galaxy cell phone in Manhattan, Kansas. Days later, Shawn Vargo contacted her, claiming to have bought the phone from someone else. He promised to mail it to Simon if she would wire $100 to him through a third party, Mark Lawrence. When Simon spoke to Lawrence about the wire transfer, she referred to the phone as hers and asked, “Are you going to send my phone to me?” Simon paid, but she did not get the phone. Instead, Lawrence took it to a Best Buy store and traded it in for credit. Charged with the theft of lost property, Lawrence claimed that he did not know Simon was the owner of the phone. Was Simon’s phone lost, mislaid, or abandoned? What is the finder’s responsibility with respect to this type of property? Can Lawrence successfully argue that he did not know the phone was Simon’s? Explain. [State of Kansas v. Lawrence, 347 P.3d 240 (Kan.App. 2015)]
