Answer of a :-
According to me its a standalone application architecture beacuse in this architecture has all the layers such as Presentation, Business, Data Access layers in a single software package. So its a best thing to handle the finding the velocity.

Answer of b:-

A case management system for detecting potential terrorist activity is also coming in the n tier    application architecture becuase Client system handles Presentation layer, Application server handles Application layer and Server system handles Database layer. but number of application servers are increased and represented in individual tiers in order to distributed the business logic so that the logic will be distributed. and we also know that it the terrorsist activity is spread around all the world so its a best thing .

Answer c:-

An Electronic trading network between venders and supliers is coming under the 3 layer architeture beacuse Client system handles Presentation layer, Application server handles Application layer and Server system handles Database layer. and we know that the vender is on another place and vender is another place.

An integrated set of tools for designing commercial heating/cooling system is coming under stand alone system. beacuse it has all the layers such as Presentation, Business, Data Access layers in a single software package.
