What program is best for accepting iOS front end code from my developer ? I need to be sure I have working source code in case he can't do backend development, I can give the front end to backend developer. Native iOS applications are made in swift language. So you must use swift for the front end as well as backend. But you can have other options. There are frameworks available for cross platform development like xamarin.

Basically you can take front end in any supporting language. Just tell your front end developer to fill some dummy data and see if the UI/UX is according to your needs. If you find the UI/UX good, then you can give that to the backend developer. He can then replace the dummy data with the actual implementation.

Since you can check the UI/UX seperately (no need of backed), Therefore you can be sure of the working source code of front end.
