Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) is referred as a problem-solving tool which facilitates to better recognize and acknowledge the process and assists to apply the method in an existing problem. In Control Phase the team is focused on creating a monitoring plan to continuously keep measuring the success of the updated process and developing a response plan in case there is a dip in performance. Thus once in place these plans are handed over to the process owner for ongoing maintenance.
Furthermore to preserve focus the team must fine down the crucial few measurements they need for ongoing monitoring of the process performance. Monitoring Plan is accompanied by a response plan which facilitates to recognize and acknowledge the levels at which the process should operate and what to do in case the process performance starts to decline thus this leads to continuous project refinement process.
