The client was not ready to listen initially. However, techniques such as empathizing, apologizing and listening actively to the client gave the client assurance that there is someone who ‘really’ understands the problem. Once the anger was diffused, the problem was discussed and a solution was provided. Constant follow up was made with the client to ensure that the client is happy with the solution and to take corrective action if required.
