Explanation / Answer

Answer 1)

On assuming O2 as an Ideal gas we have Ideal gas equation as,

PV = nRT.

n/V = P / RT

D = P/RT (as, n/V = D = molar density for O2)

With STP condition, P = 1 atm, R = 0.082 L.atm/mole.K. T = 25 oC = 298 K.

Using these values in above

D = 1 / (0.082 x 298) = 0.0409 moles/L

On multiplyin Molar density by Molar mass of O2 we get density of O2 gas as,

d = D x M

d = 0.0409 x 32

d = 1.31 g/L

Density of O2 gas at 25 oC is 1.31 g/L.

Answer option (C).
