anterior part of pituitary gland is kown as adenohypophysis and posterior part is known as neurohypophysis.
hormones from anterior part of pituitary gland:- 1. thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), 2. follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), 3. leutenizing hormone (LH),4. adenocorticotropic hormone (ADH), 5. growth hormone, 6. melanocyte stimullating hormone.
hormones from the posterior part of pituitary:-in the form oxytocin and vassopressin.
anterior part of pituitary gland:-1. synthesise hormones that are under the control of hypothalamus, posterior part of pituitary recieves the terminal knob from hormone synthesising nuclei in hypothalamus.
2. The anterior part of pituitary gland have chromophobe and chromophilic cells, posterior part of pituitary have only neural tissues along with pituicytes.
