It is so because for unit cell, any point position can be calculated by determining it's distance or coordinates from the x, y and z axes in terms of lattice vectors a, b and c of the respective lattice. For eg.
Be it any system, the coordinates points for corners can be found out by simply measuring their distance along the axes
So begin by taking the origin at any one corner and cosider the coordinate system to be parallel to the lattice vector of that crystal system. Then wrt to these vectors find out the distance of all corners and write them in coordinate form
