Based on the case study; Energy Transitions from Approximately 1800 to Present, answer the following.

1. What are the impacts of population increase on a potential transition from oil to other energy resources?

2.  Why is the transition from oil potentially linked to hazards, such as conflicts between nations AND health hazards?

Explanation / Answer

Answer:

1. Impact of population Growth on energy resources:

Generally growing populations means that its consume more energy. And viceversa availability of energy allows to growth of population. Energy resources are become very harder to extract, and forests are depleted day by day, coal mines are must dig deeper, oil has to be drilled in most complex environments. In other words, energy resource extraction experienced declining marginal returns, this has to be led the exploitation of new energy resources, which in turn expands the earths capacity. Then populations grow once more.

Basically the use of energy enables us to improvements in the standard of living, in case of absence of energy can make people a poor quality of life and deny them those services that contribute to lowering the population growth rate. Many energy resources are not infinite, and they are not distributed uniformly, and if they influence the population growht rate, then there can be significant impacts from variations in their availability and deployment.
