The following year the Nature magazine published the structure suggested by Watson and Crick. The works of Franklin and Wilkins were as outstanding and important as those of Watson and Crick in the work of elucidating the structure of DNA. In 1962 Watson, Crick and Wilkins won the Nobel Prize for their work in the discovery of DNA, however, it could not be for Franklin because the prize is not awarded posthumous.
