Question
Given that g = 4^2l/T^2, where r is the acceleration due to gravity, L is the length of a pendulum in meters and T is the period of the pendulum in seconds. Find the maximum error in calculating g when l = I meter and T = 2 seconds if the error in measuring l and T is 0.01 meter and 0.1 seconds respectively. b) A container in the shape of prism of length 100 cm and its cross-section is an inverted isosceles triangle. Water is being poured into the container and the base and height of the triangle is increasing at the constant rate of 2 cm per minute and 3 cm per minute respectively. Find the rate at which the volume of the water is increasing when the base and height of the triangle is 4 cm and 5 cm respectively. Suppose the population density (people per square mite) of Bandar Demerol can be modeled by f(x, y) = 5000xe^x/1 + 2x^2 where x, y are measured in miles. By using double integration, find the population inside the region defined by the vertices (0, 0), (4, 0), (0, -2) and (4, -2). Given that
length L=1 m
time t=2sec
the error of length L'=0.01 m
the error of time t'=0.1 sec
now we find the the percentage error in the acceleration due to gravity
the percentage error in the acceleration due to gravity g'/g=(L'/L)+2(T'/T)
=(0.01/1)+2(0.1/2)
=0.01+0.1
=0.11
therefore the percentage error g'/g*100=0.11*100=11%
