2. (A) KE = m v^2 / 2 = m (vx^2 + vy^2)/2

= 5.60 ( (6)^2 + (-2.20)^2) /2

= 114.4 J

(B) KEf = 5.60 (8.50^2 + 5^2)/2 = 287J

change in KE = 287 - 114.4 = 172.6 J
