Question
Sign has invited p people to a holiday party at his house and wants to bake cookies for his guests. Sixty percent of the people invited will be attending, and twenty percent of the attendees will be bringing a friend. Write a formula to determine the number of people who will be attending Webb's party.
what is the formula ?? I put (50*0.60)+((50*0.60)*0.20)*2 the web said it's wrong
Suppose p = 50. Will three dozen cookies be enough for each person at the party to have one? (Don't forget to include Webb.)
Explanation / Answer
0.6p+0.6*0.2p = attending
0.72p = attending
0.72*50+1 = 37 cookies need to be made
3*12 = 36, 3 dozen cookies will not be enough
