You might be tempted to handle conflict in whatever way comes naturally to you, perhaps combined with what you have learned from others. This approach does not guarantee success. You can learn new and better ways of managing conflict. The first step is to carefully assess how you typically manage it now. In the book "Reaching Out" (2003), David Johnson describes five conflict- management styles based on one's responses to two key questions in any attempt to resolve conflict: 1. How important is it that you achieve your personal goals and get what you want? 2. How important is your relationship with the other person? Your answers exert a strong influence on how you deal with conflict. To help you gain awareness of your current approach, consider which of the styles you typically use Look on page 29 in your book and after answering the two conflict resolution questions describe a conflict situation you have been in and which style "animal" fits

Explanation / Answer

Conflict management does essentially comprise of answering these two key questions, i.e. how important is the achievement of this goal for the individual and what is the relationship dynamics between the two people/perspectives concerned. Once the individuals have discerned this, it becomes easier to make choices and re-build the connect between one another by engaging in joint problem solving and resolving the conflict that had arised.

Practising a field within physical activity is not an aspect of this field. It mostly concerns the significance of it, it's scholarly study and experiencing it for oneself and how it could enhance most personal experiences.
