Explanation / Answer

1. ANS: Based upon the patients symptoms the left Internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery was blocked, because these arteries supply blood to much of the left side of the brain. When these arteries are blocked, symptoms might include on a portion of the right side.

2. ANS: She was paralyzed in the right arm and face because her left cerebral hemisphere is affected.

3. ANS: Her language comprehension is normal. Only the motor part is affected. So, she is suffering from Broca's aphasia.

4. ANS: She is able to write in her left hand. So, her dominant cerebral hemisphere is right. Since she has paralysis in right hand, the left cerebral hemisphere which is her non dominant hemisphere is affected.
