A training need in my place of employment:

I work in a company that is into providing educational help to students. A lot of employees work in my company. There are various domains in which employees are engaged. This workforce constitutes both male and female employees. Though the company has made various policies regarding workplace conduct but still as per the need of the hour a regular training needs to be given regarding the same. Thus, a training that is seriously required in my place of employment is for the prevention of sexual harassment at workplace.

How did you determine training was needed?

There has been an increase in reports of sexual misbehavior at workplace in the recent period. This has led me to think upon providing such a training to the workforce so that employees get aware of their rights and the steps that need to be taken in case of any unexpected and unwanted event.

I would suggest that the higher authorities of the company or the internal committee of company arrange a guest lecture for the same. A guest lecture by the expert would make it very clear to the employees about their rights and boundaries. For the best outcome of the training, it must be made sure that every employee is asked to attend the training session.

The training can be conducted in the meeting area of the company.

Equipment needed:

The training will require a presentation by the guest speaker. It will require a computer system and a big screen or a projector so that everyone could easily see the presentation. Since the company is already using these equipment’s, there would be no issues regarding the arrangement of these.

How would you determine if the training was effective? What tools or methods would you use?

To make it sure that the training was effective, a questionnaire can be put up to the employees. This questionnaire will include some questions regarding the training and a feedback from the company.

If the responses and the feedback will align to each other, then it should be considered that the training was effective.
