Question

GENERALIZED QUESTION, ACTUAL NUMBERS NEED TO UTILIZE IMAGINATION, JUST LOOKING FOR A SIMPLE EXPLANATION FOR EACH POINT

Step 1 Read the following project scenario:

David is a project manager for a large company that develops and manufactures household items. Over the past several weeks, he has been working to set up a new project developing a new line of bedding that uses a fabric that is lightweight, does not wrinkle, and is relatively warm. David has two lead designers, an assistant designer, two engineers, and a team at the manufacturing plant lined up to work on the project.

His company also has decided to partner with a brand-name company to develop the line, and David recently met the partnering company's project manager, Alisia. The planning stages were almost complete and the project was slated to launch within one week. Alisia then unexpectedly told David that her team, which includes a lead designer and a marketing executive, would like to see a detailed plan for quality assurance. She also expressed concern over the manpower that David's company will be providing to develop this line.

Step 2

Develop a QA plan and resource plan that address Alisia's team's concerns. In your response, address the following topics:

Justify the amount of human resources you have allotted

Availability and scheduling of your team

Your plan for team management

Your plan for productivity

A "back-up" plan for realigning the team if one or more members were to leave the team (due to illness or other emergency)

Create a Quality Assurance plan

Methods, tools, and processes you will use to monitor quality

A QA checklist

Explanation / Answer

The following plan can be used to address Alisia'' quality assurance:

- first of all meet lead designer and marketing excuexecu of Alisia's team to understand their requirements.

- then check what you already have in your product and what standards are to be meet.

- then find ways to fulfill the requirements.

- ask the suppliers to send you the options of fabic samples, send those to Alisia's office for approval, and once approved ask the supplier to send that quality.

- once the raw material from the supplier is recived send the same to Alisia's for approval the prime for focus on the fabric quality.

- send all the print design's in exact colour schemes, and shades for approval.

- once fabric and prints are approved, make some pre-production samples and get that approved too with your buyers seal and stamp, now that will be your reference for entire production.

-now you can start the production with the sealed sample you have, and keep on sending samples are every stage for approval.

- set a few in-house QC to match the buyer expectations.

-you can ask their QC to come for inspection during the production.

- meanwhile the production is going on, get the packaging details from the buyer, start sourcing and get approval for the same.

-Once the production is done call for final inpecinspe before despatch.

Based on your perivious order quantities, you must have gauged the approximate man- power required and accordingly filled in positions, but in while planning consider the below points:

-Whatever daily output you are expecting per day plan 10-15% extra manpower, so any delay due to absentism is eliminated.

-You can also skill 2-3 operators in multiple operations, so thatbthey can take the place of any emergency shortage in production.

Following tools you can use to monitor QA :

- prepare an excel to make sure you get all the approvals on time.

-maintain a file of all the approvals and reports recieved, so you have all.the records when required.
