Question
Given the following mRNA sequence, 5'-AUGGACCUUAAA-3', answer thr questions below. A) What amino acid sequence, using the three-letter designations for amino acids, is coded for by the mRNA? B) If a mutation converts CAG, what is tge amino acid sequence ? C) What will the amino acid sequence be if G is added to the beginning of the mRNA chain?
Sapling Learn table el codoro can be found amre acid sequence, uing the three-lete desgalens for antin acids, sanded tr by the b) a mutation oonverts GAC to CAO, what is the amino acid seoanoe? c) What wl he amino acid sequence beirGis added phe beginning nRNA char?Explanation / Answer
Answer
A) Amino acid sequence of mRNA 5"-AUGGACCUUAAA-3' will be -met-Asp-leu-Lys-.
b) amino sequence of above mRNA, if GAC changes into CAG will be met-Gln-leu-Lys.
c) amino acid sequence will be changed if we add G to the beginning of mRNA though theoretically, it will not translate into polypeptide since there is no start codon if we add G at 5' end of mRNA.
Still, if we consider this will enter into translation then it will code the following sequence
Asp-Gly-Pro. one codon will be stop codon at the end.
