Explanation / Answer

1) Nervous system is responsible for control and coordination of various body parts and communication between them. It is involved in transmission of nerve impulses. It is important for perception of special senses like vision, hearing, olfaction, taste and touch. Nervous system is also essential for our thought process, movement and survival.

2) Nervous system consists of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. Brain and spinal cord consists of central nervous system. Sensory nerve, motor nerve, autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic) constitute the peripheral nervous system.
