Question
Excel Formula to Convert a Decimal to a Date
I am using a program to turn a graph of information into a spreadsheet. It uses the year linearly and converts the date along the x-axis into a decimal value.
My question - is there a formula or possibly a filter I can use to convert these decimal values into MO/DA/YR dates?
Each month has a range. For example: a day is worth .0027 and 30 days (one month for this circumstance) is valued .0833 - thus 90.0833 would be converted to the date 1-30-90. 92.168 would be 3-1-92 and so on.
Does anyone know if there is a way that I can convert this in Excel without having to perform the action manually??
Thank you very much ???
Explanation / Answer
Hi..
try
1. If the number is in A1, then type =round(A1*365.25,0). This should convert your decimal number to an integer.
2. Format the column to the date format you want.
