Question
What questions, comments to you have about the experiences (150-250 Words)
I think when it comes to relationships, love, all things along those lines, we might see experiences from our family, community, or within our cultures, because everyones lives are so different, people might have different opinions when it comes to this subject. I think the generations are so different now, for example our parents might have high expectations for us based off from when they were our age. I have always thought I was going to get married eventually in my life. I am getting personal but now my feelings towards that have shifted. My parents were together until I graduated high school, and then a few years later their divorce became final. I grew up in a, what you could say, was a typical American household. I had a brother, my brother and I were involved in numerous sports, my brother was his class president, we had a golden retriever puppy. But then after my parents got a divorce and years of marriage down the drain, I constantly wonder if I will get married in the future. I think everyones expectations when it comes to something like this are so very different because everyone is living a different life.
Explanation / Answer
Childhood experiences affect an individual’s adult personality. It is natural for the girl to develop an aversion towards marriage due to her childhood experiences. Her parents' divorce made her question whether or not she would ever want to marry. For her, marriage is not something that she believes in because growing up she saw her parents' marriage fall apart. However, what really must be understood is that, is she scared of marriage only because her parents got divorced or she in general does not believe in the constitution of marriage as the society views it? Irrespective, it is indeed a personal choice. However, one sour experience must not paint her perception of marriage. There are a lot of happy couples out there who have been married for half a century. It works out for some and does not work out for the others. Marriage is a lot of work and also, it takes two to tango.
